Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear to class?
Anything you are comfortable exercising in (no loose scarves, baggy clothing or dangly earrings). Choose footwear that stays on your feet and you can slide safely in. You don’t want too much grip. You may also choose to dance in your socks or bare feet! Please designate shoes you will be wearing in the studio and ones you will be wearing on the street (dancers usually bring 2 pairs).
Do I need a dance partner?
It is perfectly fine if one does not have a dance partner. Royal City BS is the perfect setting to meet some of the great people in our community. You sign up as a Leader or Follower and we’ll do our best to make sure everyone has a partner!
What is the best way to get in contact with the school?
Contact us via email and we’ll get into contact with you within 48 hours.
What do I do when I come to the dance school for the first time?
Look for the Guelph Youth Dance Orange sign next to the Lady Glaze donut shop, walk up the stairs to the second floor and we’ll be in Studio C. Someone should be there to greet you 🙂
What are the class sizes
There is maximum of 16 students in each class. Ideally, 8 Leaders and 8 Followers.
How do I book a private lesson
Email us with the times and dates you have available. We will see if the studio space and teacher are available. If everyone’s schedule lines up, we will take your payment in person or online.
